We have worked with Stephani Roy McCallum [of the Dialogue Partners Team] on a number of projects where we wanted to ensure that we really heard the views of residents on issues that are important to them, and to us. They created processes where citizens could come together share ideas and perspectives, deliberate and provide reasoned and informed recommendations and input. Sometimes we doubted whether they could pull these meetings off without people starting fights, but they always managed to build consensus and resolve conflict! Those consultations improved our ability to make informed decisions on issues important to everyone in the City.
